On September 13, PVHS held its first home cross country meet in 7 years. It was an exciting event for all runners as they ran towards home support, and to the audience as they cheered on the Trojans.
The track was located at the Discovery Park golf course, across the street from PVHS, an infamous practice track for students in Cross Country and track. The course was 3.1 miles long, starting and ending at Shadow Mountain Christian Fellowship Church. PVHS competed alongside Mojave, Del Sol, Western, Valley, Losee, and Beatty.

Coach Kolodzieczyk was nervous for this meet, not for it being the first home meet in years, but because he was in charge this time. “I am very pleased with how they ran,” Kolodziecyk stated, “it was a good show on our home course.”
Out of 37 girls, 3 ladies placed in the top 10– Patricia Roundy in 8th place with a time of 25:41:00, Katie Goodman in 5th place with a time of 23:58:00, and Diamond Sonerholm in 1st place with a time of 21:34:00.

Out of 56 boys, 4 boys placed in the top 10–Seth Sonerholm in 9th place with a time of 19:14:00, Michael Sonerholm in 8th place with a time of 18:54:00, Jacob Cippolini in 7th place with a time of 18:52:00, and Grant Odegard in 4th place with a time of 18:33:00.
The Cross County boys and girls of PVHS have had a great season so far, and will continue moving forward with their times. Although there may not be any more home meets for Cross Country this year, make sure to support your Trojans by purchasing XC Senior On A Stick at the last football game.
