Let’s face it. Everywhere we go there is trash in the streets, on buildings, and even in nature where we don’t go that often.

As a motorcyclist I enjoy anything off road as much as the next guy. Here in Pahrump, there isn’t much for us teenagers to do or hang out and the ones who have decided to ride motorcycles know how much of a pain it is to find a cool spot to ride and hang out with your buddies without getting angry people trying to get you out. People don’t like us riding around in the desert and the main reason for that is people make a mess throw trash everywhere and just plain out wreck the place.

But, here in Pahrump we are lucky enough to have such a different variety of places to explore even though it just might look like dirt forever. There are some very interesting places to explore and adventure. For example we have vast deserts that stretch beyond what the eye can see. We also have some little sand areas for those who enjoy that kind of area. There are also some beautiful mountains that are thriving with wildlife and the trails are endless. So many places to go and see new things. We also have something that you wouldn’t r

eally imagine a desert would have. Up in the mountains there is a magnificent stream that carves into the mountains that is home to some decent size trout but this also supplies all the animals around with fresh, clean water.

One thing I notice every time I explore these places is that there happens to be more and more trash strewn about right now. It may not seem like a lot ,but it’s increasing at a steady rate. Pahrump is already a not so bright place to start with and we are the only ones that can give our home a better name and make it better for everyone to live here and to grow together. We need to at least clean up after ourselves and have respect for the environment. I’m not saying everyone is doing this but those who are are only ruining nature for other people. If we want to make this little town a little more enjoyable, we first need to take care of it and keep it clean from trash and other things that could be destroying it.

So, think twice before dumping your trash in random places in our community (the dump is free)!
