As humanity progresses on Earth, we slowly kill the planet more and more with war, oil spills, and pollution. The question is, however, how much longer do we have until Earth dies or we kill each other?
Our space exploration has increased over the years, and if worse comes to worse, we need to be able to move as many humans as possible to keep us from going extinct another planet. The possibility of us surviving may be slim to none, but there are many processes we could go through to survive.
The possibility to re code human DNA which means to change our regular DNA to survive harsh environments we couldn’t in a regular state. In a new movie called Titan, had been exactly that, so we could live on Jupiter’s moon Titan and survive.
A group of people were chosen to be a part of an experiment that forces humans to adapt to the surface of Titan, due to their past ability to survive in extreme conditions. The scientist in the movie had completely re code the human DNA to survive in very cold weather, breathing hydrogen air, and stay underwater for long periods of time.
Although, not everyone would survive the process because of their body types, and possible rejection of the process, resulting in permanent damage or even death, like many in the movie.
This brings up the question on whether we actually have the ability to do this kind of work on people.
Many theories, scientist and authors like Gregg Braden a five-time New York Times best-selling author, and pioneer in bridging science, spirituality and human potential, explains that the human chromosome number two (the second largest is the human body) is a result of an ancient fusion of pre-existing chromosomes. He believes that someone fused this in the past making us who we are today, and this explains that evolution hadn’t happened.
If this was fact, then we may be able to do it in today’s times and move forward with human technology and expand our people throughout the universe.
Most might think this is very far-fetched, but anything is possible with practice, research and moving forward. We live in a world where this is no turning back, always moving on.
This would be a great opportunity for everyone to start new fresh, and continue with the world greatness. Everything is truly possible if you put your mind to it.
Leaving this planet will be the best for everyone, that way we can become new people with more intelligence in our brains.

To live on planets that have different atmospheres, scientists would have to “change our DNA” to keep us from dying in different atmospheres, but like all things, this would have some challenges such as the travels. We would need to learn to isolate ourselves from radiation or any other harmful rays out in space, and as for water, we need to learn how to conserve water similarly to a camel.

Today is the future, and the past is yesterday. This is a dream come true to scientists in the modern age. The ability to change the genetic makeup of humans, let alone animals, has been believed for centuries to only be able to be achieved by deities heaven sent. Many people believe that “leaving this planet will be the best for everyone. That way we can become new people with more intelligence in our brain” and I agree with the author on one argument. Yes, we are slowly killing our planet but not at a rate to worry the next generations. Leaving to another planet will only be available to the wealthy. A trip on a shuttle today to the edge of our planet to experience zero-gravity is $200,000 dollars per person and that’s not even in the same ballpark as in being close to another planet. Take Mars “the Red Planet” for example, it shows evidence of being capable to support life at some point in its celestial history. This might be a stretch but what if mankind was founded on Mars and throughout time we slowly destroyed the planet and its climate and ecosystem so to save mankind we sent two people, a man and woman, on a spaceship to earth. What if the meteor that crashed into the earth destroying the dinosaur population was Adam and Eve the first humans on earth and it’s just in due time till we have to take the same actions.

In a way, I agree with what you’re saying. DNA alternation has been going on for a few centuries, and although it’s not a 100% understood subject, I would trust it to change hair color, eye color, or even height. But I don’t believe that changing our DNA is safe. It could be dangerous and possibly cause a mutation. When you say “leaving this planet will be the best for everyone,” I’m not sure if I agree with that because we have created a society over thousands of years and to pack up and leave, and to start from nothing on a planet that is unfamiliar would take a long time and a lot of people would die in the process.

With the leaps in cybernetic medicine, it’s only a matter of time until we develop full body prosthesis such as that seen in the popular anime series “Ghost in the Shell” which could possibly get rid of the need of DNA alteration. Why edit human DNA and have the possibility of creating a disease that wipes out all of mankind when we can become cyborgs?

I think its kinda scary to be changing our DNA. I think it’d be better to just work on improving Earth and trying to undo the damage that’s been done.

Although I feel like it would be interesting to reconstruct DNA, I just think that using it in order to inhabit another planet seems a little insane. Humans inhabit Earth and that’s that. We are already looking into space more but what about the rest of the unknown already on our own planet? Human’s are really good at screwing things up and I think sending them into space to inhabit new places we are ultimately going to mess it up, because that is what we do. There is no harmless curiosity when it comes to this because there is no guarantee to how it will end. With no guarantee, the chances of having consequences are much higher.

I think it would be smart to try and figure out how to change our DNA to suit another planet. You never know what could happen and when we may need to evacuate this planet. Having the type of technology we have we would be able to find ways to reconstruct our DNA in order to live on other planets.
