Vans, a classic shoe that is worn and enjoyed still  to this day.

   Vans are a unisex shoe, made for everyone. More on the casual side are the authentics, which have an ultra plain, low profile silhouette, with a thick rubber sole and a clean canvas. Outstanding Eras are a double stitched, held together better with a padded tongue, and lined with an inlined Vans signature waffle insole.

The first store was founded in 1966, by Paul and Jim Van Doren along with their partners Gordon C Lee and Serge D’Elia. The first store was located on 704 East Broadway Street in Anaheim, California. Only twelve customers were drawn to the store.

    Vans used to be identified by number instead of name. They started at four dollars, fifty cents are now fifty to sixty bucks. Evolving greatly with socks, shoes, backpacks, shirts, hoodies, and hats now. During the 76/77 era, there was leather, Vans came up with an old school leather lining the front of the shoe.

An ollie, a skating maneuver where the skater slams their foot on the tail of the board then simultaneously flies through the air doesn’t bother the shoe cause of the grips on the bottom of the shoe that never to stop you from sliding but it’s better to get a new pair when the soles wear out.

    Geoff Rowley, an English professional skater boy, ex co-owner of Flip Skateboards and the current owner of Civilware Service. He was been awarded Thrasher, Skater of the Year in 2000. His crazy, iconic stunts moved from from England to California for the great, yearlong weather and skate spots. His vans allow the skaters actually come in contact with their board.

    Anthony Van Engelen has been with Vans since 05’. His style of skate is different than most people have ever seen. He is sponsored by Vans shoes and apparel, Spitfire, and Independent Trucks. Only trick he hasn’t completely mastered is a the kickflip.

    Curren Caples, a skating legend named after Tom Curren, a surfer that has taken out other amazing wave riders Rabbit Bartholomew, Cheyne Horan. Geoff Rowley is his skater. The Front Blunt scares him, he wants to overcome his fear, and perfect it. A great skater that most think he was born riding a board, just went with his dream.
