Living in a small town where you don’t have much to do gets boring. There is only so much you can do in Pahrump. There’s the bowling alley, parks, and Walmart, which doing that isn’t always fun and exciting. That is why Kristie Osborne and her family decided to make an arcade. 

Before Kristie and her family decided to open the arcade they used to do a lot of traveling in many different states. When they settled down in Pahrump, Kristie said the reason for opening up an arcade was because “there is nothing to do here so why not open an arcade.” The Game Corner is a family business so therefore their arcade is called “Game Corner and Family Fun Center”. It opened four years ago on December 28th. 

Kristie and her family have an arcade in Pahrump as well as in Beatty. I asked Kristie what were some of her and her family’s goals for the arcade and she said, “Our biggest thing was to do pizza, that was a really big thing we wanted to do and we did it. We also want to expand more food and eventually later on we want to do virtual reality.” Those were some of their main goals that they achieved, and even more to come. 

With that being said, having more options and essentials in an arcade makes people want to go visit and have a good time. Meeting different people with different personalities is always interesting and fun. Kristie says what she enjoys the most about the business is “the people. I would say those are both my pros and my cons, but I’m a pretty social person so getting to talk to people is good.” Another question I asked Kristie was if she still loves her business as much as she did in the beginning, she said “I do but in a different way. I love what it has brought to the town, and because of that we are pretty well known and when we go around town people will always say hi to us and that’s always fun.” 

Jordan Reddick, a customer who has been going there for the past few years says, “Once you walk in you get hit with joy and excitement.” Walking into a place that gives you a good feeling and makes you feel safe is a very important thing to have because having that safe feeling is both good for the business and for the customers. I asked Jordan what he liked the most about the staff and said, “They’re very friendly people. They are fun, nice, and they boost your confidence in every game that you play. They are very genuine people and they always make you feel welcomed.” The Game Corner is a place to go have a good time with family and friends and to feel welcomed with amazing staff members as well. 

The Game Corner is open three days a week; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Their hours are from 3pm-8pm on Fridays, 12pm-7pm on Saturdays, and 1pm-5pm on Sundays. Arcade address is 1190 East Highway 372 #8, Pahrump, NV 89048.
