Boy’s Soccer Game

Boy’s soccer kicks off their first game of the season.

Boy's Soccer Game

Thursday night was the first game for our boy’s JV and Varsity soccer teams. What a way to kick off back to school and the beginning of sports with a home soccer game. That night’s game was not the best night for our Trojan boys, with 2 losses on their own turf. Both teams played incredibly tough and played their hearts out for a win, but unfortunately, they came out short in the end. As for the future, the team is planning to “regroup and come back together to pull out a win against Moapa Valley high school.” according to Kyle Heaney.

I was not able to interview any JV students. But what I do know from talking to a few of the varsity players is that “We see a lot of potential and a bright future for our up-and-coming freshman and sophomores in the next season” says Coach Chris Roberts. Not only did we have a tough time, but we also had a disadvantage with only 11 players vs 22 at Virgin Valley high. With that comes a huge difference with who are star players on and making sure they stay safe and healthy to play out their season.  The ultimate goal is to come back stronger and always improve on what they could do better not just with skills but with each other as well.
