Students at Pahrump Valley High School have been allowed to attend class in pajamas starting in 2021 and onward. School pajama pants were strictly prohibited while I attended Rosemary Clark Middle School (RCMS), even in elementary school. Have the rules at the school changed, or are we just ignoring the problem? I went through the Nye County Conduct Book, but I couldn’t locate anything about wearing pajamas in the current school year or starting in 2021. It appears that wearing pajama pants is okay, assuming that changes happened from 2016 to 2020. However, what I really found fascinating and the conduct book, shorts should not be visible through underwear. The “short” gym shorts, however, are worn by certain pupils as they move along the hallway. I want to know if this is against our dress code. Even so, do our pupils follow the clothing code at school? I advise any reader who attends a Nye County school to review the dress code and wear appropriate outfits during the academic year.
