The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office provided small details on their ongoing investigation. They claim that three individuals trespassed, robbed, and attempted to kidnap the rapper. Lefty resisted and then came face to face with his untimely demise; gunshots. The three individuals were said to have escaped before they got caught. His family, friends, and fans are left mourning over this terrible incident.

Carlos Felix, a rep for Alzada Records, told Billboard Espanol that Lefty SM did get shot twice, declaring his death with no more information provided. “Dear Alzada friends and family, with profound sadness we’re informing you about the death of our brother, Lefty SM, Juan Carlos Sauceda, our love and prayers are with his wife Maria and their two daughters”, wrote the label on a post on its Instagram account. 

Just hours before the shooting, he was performing in Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City along with MC Davo. Before his death, he posted a clip of him performing one of his songs on Instagram, thanking his fans for one million views. He said, “1 million thanks, plebes, I love you a lot.” The post was heartfelt and sweet, but it would be his last ever post.

Apparently, Sauceda’s wife was said to have something to do with the infamous rapper’s demise. She said, “They came with the intent to kill you, my love”. She believes something far from what reports have said, which raised eyebrows. “My love, they took you away. It’s heartbreaking how envy can be so brutal, especially when they knew the lengths you went to, chasing your dreams”. This confused many people worldwide as she revealed her side of the incident. More people suspect she truly did have something to do with the death because she stood there, doing absolutely nothing, and the house was in a gated community.

Santa Fe Klan, a very close friend of Lefty SM, posted a photo on Instagram of the two with the caption, “It’s not possible carnal, Tell me it’s a lieeeeeeeeeee”. Fans around the world are mourning his death, and making posts about the rapper’s death to honor his life and music. 

He started his music career in 1992 in his place of birth, San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. He began gaining fame in 2017 when he made a YouTube channel and then uploaded his music. His fame grew constantly and he  collaborated with other stars such as his good friend, Santa Fe Klan. Lefty SM was best known for his song “Por Mi Mexico”, and was a big inspiration to the ‘Mexican Rap’ genre.  He also collaborated with famous figures in the genre including MC Davo, Luis R.
