Amazing Varsity Softball Data

At Pahrump Valley High School, our softball team has improved a lot. Is a fun sport to play; some say they are willing to go pro in softball. Others say they are just playing for fun throughout high school. Autumn Colon, an interviewee was interviewed and mentioned that she is willing to go pro ; She knows there are sacrifices to going pro. Sacrifices such as the time you have to spend and having to cancel planned vacations or having to rearrange your schedule. She also said that softball helps her with fast reaction time, and helps her think in a fast situation. 

Some people only joined softball because their friends did and they started to like it. Colon said she has been playing since birth and she guided her friends to start playing. Also, softball is a strategic sport because you have to learn specific skills and strategies to win against a team. You have to learn strategies like communication with teammates, and staying in control under pressure. Staying calm under pressure is hard in sports. Colon said softball had made a positive impact on their life by helping her stay in shape. Softball is a competitive sport, what makes softball a competitive sport is that there is a lot of running, a lot of running for two hours straight. 

Some people had joined softball just to hang out with friends more, or even just because they needed the workout softball gives throughout the season. Colon’s favorite thing about softball is winning; winning with friends she worked hard with. Also, Colon’s second favorite thing about softball is playing defense. She likes playing defense because she is good at it. Autumn stated that her team improved because they started to practice harder and show more improvement with the team.

Varsity and JV softball are both improving this year by a lot. You can see the improvements since last year’s stats. I can see our softball team making it to State because of the effort they put into the sport. Our softball team has won many games this season and is planning on winning more softball games. Softball isn’t just about winning, they focus on improvements too, improving is important because they will need to keep improving if they are trying to go pro. 

Softball also takes responsibilities. Having responsibilities in softball is having to be in practice on time. Going to practice on time could increase your playing time. Having playing time is important because that shows how much you play in the game. Also just being good at the sport will get you to be a starter.
