Tijuana is located in Baja California, Mexico. It is the most crossed border in the world. This city was established on July 11, 1189. This city could be reached by walking, driving, flying, biking, and even on a train! It has many outstanding features and would make a great place to visit. The city strives in Mexican traditions and heritage. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, then visiting Tijuana may suit you!
The area’s climate is semi-arid; meaning it’s usually hot but can get little rainfall from time to time. Summers are short and warm, mainly clear skies while winters are long, cool, and partly cloudy.
In other words, Tijuana isn’t your typical border city. Unlike other cities, Tijuana has one major thing that makes it stand out from the rest: the distinctive traditions.
Jaime Polaco, who had posted their article on EnViva describes Tijuana as: “Border cities often have one thing that makes them unique: they feature a surprising mix of elements from both of the neighboring regions.”
Separated by a wall, Tijuana and San Diego have many characteristics in common, while at the same time each maintains its distinctive features. The Mexican city is full of character, culture, gastronomy and, above all, warm inhabitants accustomed to giving their visitors the warmest welcome. In the following paragraphs you will find a little bit of everything to make the most of this incredible destination.”
Additionally, it has many beautiful and spellbinding attractions and locations such as El Trompo, Estadio Caliente, and Avenida Revolucion, to list a few. El Trompo (meaning, “the spinning top”) is a museum inspired by the designs of the toy while being educational at the same time. The location encourages science, technology, and art to younger audiences, like children. El Trompo also is used to host concerts, events, and fairs.
The Estadio Caliente, which means “Hot Stadium” is home to the stadium of Club Tijuana, a professional Mexican Futbol Club that plays in the Mexican Primera Division, and it is also home to Agua Caliente racetrack. Evidence directly from Xolos states the purpose of building the stadium as, “The stadium has a capacity of 27,333 spectators, the main reason for the construction of the field is their desire to have a professional football club in the city.”
I’d say Avenida Revolución (Revolution Avenue; Yes, it’s a street.) is the star of the show! The Avendia Revolución is very popular for its plentiful, engaging proximate whereabouts. It provides attractions like bars, nightclubs/clubs, car & moto rentals, food, tours, and even education.
Not into attractions much? Taking nice walks or playing on the beach is fun too! The most popular beach is the Playas de Tijuana. Playas de Tijuana is a good place to spend a nice day or to take a stroll. The beach also includes its own Arts & Culture House, having local endeavors who try to inspire others to try ballet, drawing, and painting. The Arts & Culture House also has a small bullfight ring known as Cortijo San Jose, which from time-to-time hosts rodeos. Besides the Arts & Culture House and the bullfights there is even more! A nearby civic square hosts an independence celebration every 15th of September as a way to celebrate Independence Day for other Latin American countries including: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaguara.
Besides all the attractions and beaches, dining inside or out is an option in Tijuana. Sabor A Mi is a very accessible location with diverse meals.
Just 10 minutes past the border you’ll see the Sabor A Mi restaurant. The Sabor A Mi is filled with a variety of meals and cuisines. They offer vegetarian options besides meals that may include meat. Many customers have reviewed this place with great customer service and the meals to be savory. Many prefer to stop by and enjoy a delicious breakfast meal.
A great benefit of visiting Tijuana is the costs and also the fact you could cross back to America or stay in Mexico. U.S. Citizens under the age of 16 may represent themselves with a birth certificate or an alternative, while more grown up audiences must present themselves with passports.
Overall, Tijuana is an outstanding city, as well as busy. It is an appreciable place to visit for its many various sceneries and attractions. Is it right for you? Visit to see if it is!
