When you think of art you may think of painting, drawing, coloring, ect. An art teacher and Art Club advisor at PVHS, Crystal Dabrowski, started an interest in art when she was little: “Art defines culture, is entertaining, unique, a way to express one self, and different. It’s a variety of things from ancient to classical and modern”. As Dabrowski stated it’s a way to express yourself; everyone’s art is different and having different visuals is good for a different insight.
In the Art Club there are many students; many share the same interest in a certain type of art. Many students like to take inspiration from others to create their own work. Kristine Hammock is a part of the Art Club at PVHS. Hammock’s interest in art started in the second grade, she started to enjoy it and began to pursue it. “I don’t criticize unless I’m asked to, I take inspiration from other artists”. While another artist that participates in the Art Club, Madison Williams, has a different opinion. “I criticize how it was done, how they see their colors, shapes and how styles were created”. Williams will also take inspiration from other artists, seeing another student’s art will give ideas and a new vision towards art. Williams started to like art when she was four. She was sitting next to her grandfather and saw trinkets and put them together. Art is learned from visual observations and texture, it can be shown in many ways.
Art is a skill some people may inherit. It is a way of expression and it helps others to be creative and use their minds. Art can be calm or loud and finding people that are the opposite might bring new inspiration to your mind to create. Art is feelings, thoughts, and ideas translated into a craft of something new and used to connect with the real world for some people. If you find art interesting like the young people in this article, look into the art club.
