With the 25-26 baseball season coming up for Pahrump Valley High School, Coach Roy, Coach Lou, and Coach Ray are conditioning baseball players to be ready for the up and coming season. They are doing this so we can come out and dominate the season and hopefully win PVHS a state championship like the Trojans did in the 23-24 season.
A senior at PVHS, Andrew Zurn, was asked, “What are you most ready for in the upcoming baseball season?” His response was: “Having fun and spending time with my teammates.” This alone shows that Zurn has a good bond with his teammates. The second question I asked was, “Do you have any offers?”, His response was: “Currently I do not but hopefully soon.” Zurn wants his baseball career to go somewhere and is hopeful for a good outcome. He was also asked: “Do you think we have a chance to win the state title this year?” Zurn said, “If we play our best baseball no one can beat us.” The team has hope for a title and is confident of an astonishing season.
Zurn, who has been playing since he was five, is dedicated to the sport, which is an incredible aspect to have for someone on the team. He was also asked, “What position do you play?” Zurn plays two very important positions in the sport, pitcher and 1st baseman, which can be extremely helpful especially if he wants to achieve state championships. Lastly, Zurn was asked, “Have you ever hit a home run, and if so how far was it?” Zurn said, “I hit a home run in high school and it was 375 ft.” This is relevant because it shows how much time and effort Zurn puts into the sport.
Junior Kayne Horibe was also interviewed. For my first question, I asked Horibe, “What are you most excited about the upcoming baseball season?” His response was: “Just winning ball games.” This shows that Horibe is dedicated to winning ball games and will hopefully go to state this year. I asked, “Do you have any offers?” Horibe replied: “No, not yet I’ve been going to showcases to get my name out.” Horibe wants to go somewhere in baseball and get out there more. The third question I asked was, “Do you think we have a chance to win the state title this year?” Horibe said, “I think we do, but it depends on how bad we want it.” This shows that he thinks we can win State this year as long as the team plays hard throughout the season. Horibe has been playing for over 13 years and is what is called a utility player, which means that he plays any position that is needed. He is very dedicated to continuously playing baseball and improving his skills.
When the 25-26 baseball season starts, come and support the Trojans!
