The Knot Spot is a small business owned by massage therapist, Miranda Kaucky. Kaucky has been a massage therapist since 2003 and opened The Knot Spot in November of 2021. The business was originally located inside of the Crossfit gym Evolution, which was owned by another Kaucky family member Becky Kaucky, but when Evolution decided to close down in 2023 Kaucky needed to find somewhere else to run her business. Now, the Knot Spot is located at Sacred Tree Health and Wellness at 1840 East Calvada Blvd in Pahrump Nevada!
Kaucky has been a massage therapist since before massage licenses were a thing. She started her massage career in 2003 and licenses were introduced in 2005 she has been a massage therapist for a little over 22 years. “I started as a massage therapist at the spa in the New Orleans Casino in Las Vegas while also working at a chiropractor’s office before moving to The Mirage after a year,” says Kaucky. Kaucky was laid off from The Mirage during the COVID pandemic; she was laid off in March 2020 and was out of work. When she came back to work after the pandemic, her new boss was not the best so she ended up quitting. Nine months later, she opened the Knot Spot with the help of her husband, Brent Kaucky, who also owns his own business. Brent pushed her to open her own business after hearing about how poorly she was treated at The Mirage, he thought it would be good for her to be able to dictate her own hours and her own prices.
The Knot Spot is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday. Her services are by appointment only, which you can schedule by calling or texting her. There are no walk-ins. Kaucky specializes in myofascial release which is a type of massage that gently releases tightness, and pain throughout the myofascial tissue. The myofascial tissue is a type of thin connective tissue that connects the structures, like your bones, and muscles in your body, it basically holds you together. Kaucky is the best at helping athletes and people with super tight muscles, she has also worked with many different actors such as Adam Sandler and David Spade, and professional athletes throughout her very long massage career. “I also did equine massage but I don’t advertise it anymore,” Kaucky says. Kaucky has ridden horses for many years and she got into equine massage while she was horse riding often.
