The big event called the “Super Bowl” that happens every year finally came, on Sunday, February 9th, 2025. So much happened in the Super Bowl with each team making it an interesting game to watch. The two teams that played in the Super Bowl this year are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kanas City Chiefs. If the Chiefs were to win the Super Bowl then it would be their third Super Bowl win in a row as well as their fifth Super Bowl win overall. No team has ever won a Super Bowl three times in a row, so if the Chiefs were to win, they would go down in history. If the Eagles were to win the Super Bowl, it would be their second Super Bowl win, but their fourth time going to the Super Bowl. The Eagles also have nineteen postseason wins while the Chiefs have ten.
Now, moving to the actual game. Both the Eagles and the Chiefs hadn’t scored any touchdowns in the first quarter. Then, on the scoreboard six minutes and 15 seconds came; the Eagles had the ball and got the first touchdown of the game and extra point also followed their touchdown. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 7-0, leaving the Chiefs last on defense.
This now brings us to the second quarter, right before the halftime show. Right off the bat, the Chiefs made an interception when the Eagles were about to make a touchdown. Then, the Eagles came back with seven minutes and three seconds left, defensive back, Cooper DeJean, picked six. The Eagles made a forty-eight-yard field goal attempt and made it. Then suddenly, another interception was made by the Eagles with a minute and forty-five seconds left of the quarter. Right after the interception was made, A.J. Brown, who is on the Eagles made another touchdown—with a minute and thirty-five seconds left, making the score 24-0 right before halftime.
Right after the second quarter comes halftime. The famous rapper Kendrick Lamar and a famous neo-soul singer SZA performed at halftime. They both sang the song they share called “Luther”. Kendrick played so many different songs during halftime but the one that got the most attention was his song “Not Like Us”. The reason this song got more attention and applause than the others is because this song just recently won him five Grammys. Now on to the ads, many different ads were promoting so many different things like: Dunkin’, new movies to come, Red Bull, Mountain Dew Baja Blast, Uber Eats, and so much more.
This now brings us to the third quarter of the game. Halfway through the third quarter, the Eagles made yet another field goal to go up 27-0, with five minutes and eighteen seconds left. Another touchdown was made by the Eagles a little after they made their field goal with two minutes and forty seconds left, making the score 34-0. When will the Chiefs make a touchdown or a field goal? With thirty-four seconds left in the third quarter, the Chiefs finally came through and got their first touchdown of the game, making the score 34-6. The third quarter is over with a remaining score of 34-6.
This finally brings us to the fourth quarter of the game, the game is almost over. Who is going to win? The Eagles made a forty-eight-yard field goal at nine minutes and fifty-one seconds left. Eagles made yet another field goal at the forty-yard line in the fourth quarter with 8 minutes and one second left. With two minutes and fifty-four seconds left the Chiefs made another touchdown, the score is now 40-12. Then the Chiefs wanted to attempt a two-point conversion, and they got it! The Chiefs scored again! They got yet another touchdown in the fourth quarter with only one minute and forty-eight seconds left. Each time that the Eagles and the Chiefs were about to play the rest of the fourth quarter with one minute left, the Eagles kept taking a knee. They kept taking a knee because there was no need for them to keep going.
There were so many different things that were being announced during this Super Bowl, as usual. One of the first things to be announced was that the Eagles have the number one defense in the league while they were playing defense in the first quarter. Another thing announced was that it was Jalen Hurts 22nd birthday, they announced this right after he picked six in the second quarter. Another thing about Jalen Hurts is that they announced he has the most rushing touchdowns by any other quarterback
Since the fourth quarter is over only with twenty seconds left, that means the whole game is now over. This makes the final score 40-22, and the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl of 2025!
