Fall Fest has something for everyone. Whether you’re a craftsy person there to admire the works of the various vendors, a foodie who loves to try the myriad of options available at the food trucks and stands, or a thrill seeker who wants to try all of the rides, there’s something at Fall Fest for you, and you can find all the information at visitpahrump.com.
The main event is the rodeo. The rodeo was the highlight of the festival when it was first held back in the 1970s. The quaint rodeo and barbecue that was used to celebrate the harvest eventually grew into the four-day festival that we now know and love. The rodeo is a two-day event that still enraptures the people of Pahrump. This year, it will be taking place on the 26th and the 27th, with tickets sitting at $15 per person.
Fall Fest’s rides are a huge part of its charm, and there are quite a few spectacular regulars. From rollercoasters like the “Ring of Fire” to the breathtaking “Gravitron”, Fall Fest’s rides never cease to amaze. “They’re all fun no matter how many times you ride them.” Says Sione Petelo, a sophomore at Pahrump Valley High School. “My favorite ride’s probably the Gravitron.”
Some people advise against showing up late for the rides, as the lines to get the tickets, which are sitting at $35 for unlimited rides all day, can get incredibly long, especially on Saturdays, when most people show up. “I never go on a Saturday because it’s just insane,” Petelo said. Another time to avoid getting your tickets is when the sun goes down. “The lines at night are very long; they can take like an hour,” Eliana Stepp, a freshman at PVHS says.
The lines for the tickets aren’t the only line that could cause intimidation, as the lines for some of the more popular food vendors can look like a long wait, too. “Dude, some of those things take forever.” Remarked Joshua Clark, a PVHS junior, “Some of the good ones move pretty fast, though.”
Another huge part of the Festival is the stands. The sheer number of options is impressive. Both carnival games and vendors riddle the field with their merriment. There are all the classic games, and all of them give you a chance to win prizes. There are vendors of every craft: jewelers, woodworkers, clothiers, and smiths – there is a vendor for ‘everything’.
If you are the competitive type, worry not. There are a variety of fields to crush your opponents in, from games like cornhole and horseshoe to arts and crafts to food and horticulture competitions. The competitions give an amazing chance to prove your skills to the public.

Every year, Fall Fest has a theme, and this year the theme is “Out of This World”. You can expect cowboys and aliens at the parade and all across the festival grounds. The themes can often influence the live entertainment, the vendors, and the competitions.
As you can see, Fall Fest has something for everyone, and if the long lines prove anything, it’s that everything there is on a whole other level of fun. Every year, people come all the way from Vegas just for the festival, so there’s no need to argue against its magnetic charm. Make sure to gather your friends and family and visit the festival during its stay from the 25th to the 28th.
