Leonardo da Vinci was a well-known painter born on April 15th, 1452, most famous for the “Mona Lisa” and “Last Supper”. Da Vinci had composed most of his artworks in Italian cities, and was said to have created them around 1480-1516. His main objective in pursuing art was to understand on a deeper level how science and philosophy were coordinated.
Da Vinci was labeled as the most influential artist because of his drive for realism and comprehension of the study of nature, and it was also stated by Google Arts and Culture that he had a “72- page notebook that was written between 1506 and 1510.” Da Vinci left behind over 7,000 papers that reviewed anatomy and engineering, but only so many lasted through the years.

The “Mona Lisa” is the most well-known painting in history, with over 8 – 10 million visits on average each year at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. This famous painting was set behind bulletproof glass for its protection from an incident that happened during the late 1950’s. The Louver mentions “Louvre, which holds the largest collection in the world of da Vinci’s paintings, as well as 22 drawings.” Only 15 – 20 of Vinci’s paintings still exist to this day from the many that were lost or incomplete.
Other famous artists like Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and Claude Monet were also highly defining factors of current art trends, which people come across almost every day, whether it’s a hobby or a school assignment. Many other artists have contributed to everyday art values like abstract, surrealism, impressionism, and cubism.
There have been many artists who’ve stepped up to Leonardo da Vinci’s talent, but it seems nothing has fallen close to the influence of his said masterpieces. Many people have made claims of the most influential artist being seen as a different person in their eyes, but if there was any artist you could choose from, who would be your top inspiration?
