The game started off strong for the Seahawks, forcing a punt from the Rams, followed by Rashid Shaheed hauling in a 51-yard reception for the Seahawks. The Seahawks capped off this opportunity with a two-yard touchdown run by Kenneth Walker III. The Rams quickly gave the Seahawks a taste of their own medicine with Matthew Stafford taking a deep shot to Puka Nacua for a 44-yard reception. The Rams couldn’t find the end zone and ended up taking a 44-yard field goal, making the score 7-3. The Seahawks ended up striking back with a 27-yard field goal of their own. This was all the scoring of the first quarter, with the score being 10-3.
The second quarter would soon begin; the Rams punched in a 50-yard field goal, making the score 10-6. The Rams’ defense came through in a clutch moment, forcing a punt. The Rams took advantage of this opportunity, taking the lead with a 9-yard passing touchdown to Kyren Williams, making the score 13-10 with the Rams taking the lead. The Seahawks got the ball back but were forced to punt again. The Rams also punted after getting the ball back. The Seahawks locked in with a deep 42-yard pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Sam Darnold then threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Smith-Njigba, giving the Seahawks the lead again, 17-13.
This led to halftime, where the Seahawks would get the ball at half. Seattle was stopped on their second-half opening drive, but in a dramatic fashion, Rams’ punt returner Xavier Smith muffed the punt, with the Seahawks recovering in the red zone. The Seahawks took quick advantage of the situation, with a one-play 17-yard touchdown pass to Jake Bobo. This game was quickly overtaken by the Seahawks, making the score 24-13. The Rams soon brought vengeance with a 40-yard deep shot to Colby Parkinson. The Rams weren’t done, with another 29-yard deep shot to Devante Adams. The next play, Adams hauls in an easy two-yard touchdown, making the score 24-20 and cutting the lead to four. Yet again, the Seahawks struck back, with Cooper Kupp bringing in a 13-yard touchdown pass, making the score 31-20.

The Rams just wouldn’t go down easy; Stafford found Nacua deep again for a 34-yard touchdown. This made the score 31-27, and the fourth quarter began. The Seahawks punted on their fourth-quarter opening drive, which gave the Rams an opportunity to take the lead. It was a risky fourth and four in Seattle’s red zone on their six-yard line. The Rams went for it and couldn’t convert; a short pass to Tyler Ferguson was broken up by Seahawks’ DB Devon Witherspoon. The Rams forced another punt with 25 seconds left in the game, hoping for a game-winning drive. Things started off promising, with a 23-yard reception from Nacua. The Rams hurried to the line and spiked the ball with 11 seconds left since they were out of timeouts. The Rams went deep to Nacua again for 21 yards, but since they didn’t have timeouts, the game was over. The Seahawks will move on to the Super Bowl to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
