Paul Mitchell, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, educates and trains their students to begin their careers in the beauty industry, including hair, makeup, skincare, and nails. This program aims to empower students and reinforce brand loyalty through hands-on training.
The school generally opens at 9:00 a.m. from Monday- Friday, full time cosmetology programs run 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m, while evening programs start at 5:00 p.m.
Paul Mitchell stands out because it combines technical training with a strong focus of creativity, business skills, and personal branding. The program uses the well-known Paul Mitchell systems and teaching methods, plus it emphasizes real world salon readiness, like client communication, retailing, and building your own clientele.

Jaden Engel, a former cosmetologist at Paul Micthell says this curriculum will “prepare students by teaching with real salon experience.” You’ll work with real clients, learn time management, customer service, and gain confidence in a professional environment so you’re ready to transition directly into a salon or even start building your own brand.
While the number of hours can vary, most of the program includes hands-on experience after core students will spend a significant portion of the program on the clinic floor working with real clients, allowing you to build confidence and political skills before graduating.
Engel says, “The school focuses on advanced techniques like modern color trends, balayage, precision-cutting, and styling,” which you could do for social media, and business/marketing skills that help students stay current with industry trends. Future professionals are guided by Paul Mitchell’s learning leaders through the three levels of this cosmetology program which are: Core, Adaptive, and Creative.

In the Core phase, you’ll work exclusively with simulated products and mannequins, allowing you to focus on developing your skills without any pressure of live models. This also includes braiding, perming, hair coloring, makeup, facials and much more.
In the Adaptive phase, you will be working with chemical products and also live models for the first time. You’ll begin by completing full exercises, from full applications to creating complete looks all under close supervision. This will help you perfect your skills with help from learning leaders.
Lastly, the Creative phase, you will include more independent work, expanding your creativity, and mastering advanced skills. The focus shifts to speed, timing, frequency, and pushing you to work more while maintaining high quality.

To complete the program, students must meet the required state hours; Nevada requires 1600 hours for cosmetology. You also must maintain satisfactory attendance, academic progress, complete practical skill requirements, and pass both written and practical exams.
