This upcoming May, the senior class of 2026 attending Pahrump Valley High School will engage in their last weeks of school before leaving to be out on their own.
Aubrey Williams is a student-athlete of the current 2026 senior class. Williams has played soccer since she was little and continued to play throughout all four years of her high school journey. After her final soccer season, Williams was offered to play for the state of Hawaii and had no hesitation in accepting their offer. She said, “I toured the school and fell in love instantly when I was 16 and have wanted to go there since.” Within her years of playing soccer, Williams has found a deep bond with those she has played with during her time in soccer. Through the hard practices, early mornings, and difficult injuries, Williams found a family in what she persevered in.

Outside of soccer, Williams is now preparing for the outside world. Now that she is a senior, Williams will learn the hardships and enjoyments of being out on her own. “I would absolutely say I’m ready to be on my own in the real world. It’s definitely scary, but I’ll know it’s such a blessing in disguise,” Williams stated. With help by her side along the way, Williams will adapt to the demands of adulthood as she grows into an independent member of society.
Joshua Slusher, also a PVHS senior, is a multi-sport athlete consisting of football, basketball, and track among the years he’s contributed to PVHS. Slusher admits the strengths he has acquired through his years of sports, “ Sports have given me more of a reason; it has made me tougher physically, and it’s given me an outlet when I needed it the most.” Slusher’s sports experience over the years has allowed him to take everything he learned and apply it to more than any game or practice.

As Slusher plans out his life after high school, he starts to reminisce about the joys of being a kid: “I will deeply miss just being a kid, having fun with my friends, and not having any cares.” Ever since he started playing in his youth, Slusher has hoped to play football at a professional level in college.
These two seniors, and many more, have developed memories worth carrying into their adulthood. They will be deeply missed as they move on to their bright futures; with that being said, let’s celebrate and appreciate our childhood. You grow beautiful memories, so cherish them! Life flies in the blink of an eye, so don’t let it go to waste.
As the senior class of 2026 begins their journey outside of high school, make sure to attend graduation night, May 29th, to send off your final goodbyes!
