At Pahrump Valley High School, our very own staff and Boy’s Varsity Basketball team will be playing a game against our staff and coaches on May 7th, 2026, in our gym from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Since the school year is coming to an end, why not have a Staff vs. Boys’ Varsity basketball game here at our beloved Pahrump Valley High School!
The students participating, Keir Sheppard, Lucas Gavenda, Trae Plain, Caden Briscoe, and many other varsity players, had mentioned that they were excited about the game. As the game approaches, the students are stating that they’re going to “kick butt, win this game, and that the teachers don’t stand a chance”.

Mr. Abbis, a counselor and one of the staff members participating, had stated, “I do not think we will win. I know we will try hard; Keir and Lucas could beat all of us by themselves.” Abbis finds the game to be quite unfair since the basketball team has far more experience than the teachers participating. With that being said, the teachers have quite a game on their hands if Sheppard and Gavenda could beat them just on their own.
Abbis had also mentioned that there will be a concession stand during the game, so once you get hungry, you can go get a snack, because of course, who doesn’t love a game-time snack.
Gavenda mentioned that he was pretty excited for the game and couldn’t wait to play in it. He was also one of the students who were extremely confident about winning this game. Sheppard had specified, “I’m excited for the game because it’s always very fun when we have these types of games.” He also added that they’re going to “destroy the teachers during this game.”
So, with that, why not go to the Varsity vs Staff basketball game? Remember the game is on May 7th, 2026, in our gym from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door, and they will be $3 per person. If you’re with a group of up to no more than 5 people, it’ll be $5; however, remember to bring extra money so you can get yourself a nice snack sold by the Snack Shack as well. As a bonus, if you come and watch the game, the money made from ticket sales will be funds for the yearbook class and club!
