“A Father’s Miracle” tells the story of Héctor, a loving father who is sent to prison after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Inside jail, he faces violent inmates and corrupt officers while trying to survive being inside jail. Outside, his daughter, Alma, struggles without him and tries to understand the situation that their family is struggling with at that moment. As Héctor works to protect himself and others in prison, he also searches for a way to prove the truth and return home to his family. When an intimidating military captain buys the shoes for his own daughter, Héctor is unable to buy the shoes for his daughter. In jail, Héctor suffers from a mental disorder and neurological disability. This illness causes an effect on how he moves, thinks, and feels, causing Héctor to have internal and external conflicts; he’s been stabbed and beaten while being in prison, and finds himself in a situation where people around him are questioning whether he’s innocent or not. His inmates at first treated him very rudely. At the beginning, they would make him do their laundry, clean, and do their daily tasks. Over time, the inmates became very close with Héctor and started treating him like one of their own, and started protecting and defending him when times would get rough.
Although he struggles with his disease day by day, he doesn’t let that affect him in his life. He is a loving and caring person. He helps people when they are in need and even helped a single mother in need who was being hunted down. He gave the single mother and her child something to eat while he worked during the day and provided more supplements for the single mother and her child. The incident happened when the military captain’s daughter tried giving up the shoes because she saw the way her dad had treated Héctor, throwing him to the ground. Héctor had put the effort into making money by selling fruit on the street to be able to provide for his mother and daughter. The military’s daughter felt bad and wanted to do a good thing and give her shoes to someone who needed them more than she would have. As an act of sympathy for her friend, she followed Héctor into his secret spot, where the single mother’s safe place was. The little girl was on top of a water well, and the side bar wasn’t screwed on properly, leading to the little girl falling from the rail and dying. Héctor had to deal with the fact that people started to question whether he had committed the crime or not. His daughter, Alma, found a way to get into the prison he was in and be able to talk to her dad through a ginormous concrete wall and help her father prove his innocence. By talking to the inmates and convincing them to help her dad get out of the jail where he was. While Héctor was trying to prove his innocence to the corrupt police officers outside, his mom was slowly dying, leaving no choice but to have Alma live with her teacher while out of jail. Sadly, Héctor’s mother passed away, leaving Alma alone. After a while, Alma’s father was released from jail, and they were successful in proving his innocence by having numerous witnesses who saw what had happened testify in court about what they had witnessed. Alma’s testimony about her father led to her father being released from prison and being able to prove that he did not commit the crime he was accused of.

A Father’s Miracle is a film that emphasizes family support, believing children when they speak up, and fighting for justice in a position that doesn’t always understand what the children are trying to say. There’s also a strong message about helping others without expecting anything in return. Being accused of a crime you didn’t commit can affect you in many different ways, from physical to emotional issues. Being unfairly treated could provide you with personal scarring and could take years to heal from a small lie, which could lead you to be left to deal with many problems in your life. It may be challenging to believe children when they speak up or when they talk about problems that you may not have been aware of, so you could take a moment and hear closely to what your child is talking to you about.
