Nightfall Games is a local game store that caters to all sorts of hobbyists. From beginners to pros, everybody is welcome at the weekly events that the store holds, and the community is incredibly helpful for new players.
Nightfall Games is a fantastic spot for all kinds of game players, and it shows. With a wide selection of card packs for games like Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon, and tabletop games like Warhammer: 40k and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, everybody can find something to try. Nightfall hosts weekly events for Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, and One Piece.
Nightfall also has an amazing community. The warm atmosphere keeps customers coming back, and after a while a strong bond, or friendly rivalry, forms. The frequent customers are extraordinarily welcoming to newcomers, allowing them to join the weekly events and teaching them how to play themselves. Experienced players are more than glad to answer any questions on rules or gameplay. “I really like the group energy. The people are cool and really welcoming.” said Alexander Mahoney, a senior at Pahrump Valley High School that regularly attends the Magic: The Gathering and One Piece events at Nightfall. “It’s a really great time.” said another eventgoer, “Everyone’s super nice and everyone answers any questions you might have.”
Nightfall hosts multiple formats of Magic: The Gathering. From Commander on Wednesdays to Draft on Fridays, fans of the card game get plenty of time to play. Nightfall has a large variety of packs and boxes to choose from, and several Magic themed playmats. James Wiley, the owner, makes sure to keep it stocked with the latest packs. Nightfall also keeps card sleeves in stock so players can protect their new cards.
Wiley opened the store in December of 2025. “I moved here about a year ago and I realized there was nothing for the tabletop community,” Wiley said. “I wanted people to have a place to go.” Since then, the community in his store has seen a steady growth in size as more and more players join in the events. Wiley has given people a place to play and learn with other members of the tabletop community.
Wiley deeply cares for the community that has formed in his store. The cash from the first ever purchase has been framed and sits above the entrance to the play room, and he makes a real effort to make newcomers and regulars feel welcome. “It’s really nice for people to have a place to feel safe and welcome.” said Wiley, “I’m really proud of the community here, I wouldn’t be here without it.” The community has grown exceptionally close, with friendly rivalries forming between those vying for the weekly crown. On occasion, community members will provide food for the event, and other times special events are held for community birthdays and anniversaries.
Nightfall is a great place to go for new players and pros alike, and all of the event schedules and sign-ups can be found on their Facebook page. Whether you are a pro or brand new, Nightfall is the place for you.
