Here at Pahrump Valley High School, almost everybody looks forward to the weekends, where you get to have fun, relax, and spend time with friends and family. But what do students do on their weekends? People may not have genuinely fun weekends because they don’t know what to do or don’t have any friends.
I interviewed PVHS Junior Ernesto Diaz on what he does during the weekends. Diaz stated that he usually wakes up around 9 AM and works out until about noon. He likes working out because “It’s a win-win situation because I’m bored and I get stronger.” These workouts consist of running, push-ups, sit-ups, planks, squats, and calf-raises. After that, Diaz watches TV, plays video games on his Xbox, and goes on his phone until around 5 PM. Diaz likes playing video games because “Some games have cool storylines and other games are just more fun than watching TV.” Dinner time is around 6-8 PM. After that, he chills out the rest of the night and goes to sleep around 11 PM. Next on his list is hanging out with friends. Diaz likes to hang out with friends Ryan Sousa, Joshua Clark, Joshua Everett, George Anderson, and Aiden Emery. Diaz exclaimed that his favorite part of hanging out is going to the gas station late at night and getting snacks and drinks.

Next, I interviewed PVHS Junior Joshua Clark on what he does during the weekends. Clark likes to sleep for between 8 and 16 hours daily during the weekend. Clark also likes to play guitar on the weekends; he plays on average of between 30 minutes and 3 hours. “I love my guitars so much, dude.” He has five guitars: Yamaha, Fesley, B.C., Rich, Gearit, and Stadium. Clark also likes to go on motorcycle rides with his dad: “We usually just drive all around Pahrump, and I think it’s a good bonding time, and they are fun, and I can’t wait until I get my motorcycle license.” He also likes to play fighting video games like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. “My favorite game is Mortal Kombat X, and my favorite character to use is Jason Voorhees.” Clark likes to hang out with friends. His girlfriend, Sam, and his sister, Jaylee, during the weekend. He also likes to go to Walmart with his sister and friend, Everett. “We like to go to Walmart because we like to walk around, and it isn’t busy, so we don’t have to worry about many people; it’s just one of those things that are fun for no reason.”

Overall, based on the interviewees. These seem like pretty good and fun weekends. Maybe this can inspire other students to make their weekends more enjoyable and actually fun. Hanging out with friends can make a big difference and provide lots of fun. If you don’t have friends, go out and make some!
