On Friday, March 13, 2026 the Pahrump Valley Trojans JV Softball team played a tournament in St. George, Utah. The tournament continued to Saturday, March 14, 2026 with double headers each day.
Going into this tournament, they had many goals to achieve. The main goal was to continue to work hard in each game. Tierra Demers, sophomore at Pahrump Valley High School, and the team’s shortstop and pitcher, said, “It was hard playing in the heat, but we continued to work hard both days.” With the many goals they have this season, each of them strive to achieve them.
The Trojans went 1-2 on Friday. With the final score being 20-1, the Trojans had a big win against Bishop Kelly. Ridgeline was a difficult game for the Trojans, but it gave them more experience with great hitting groups of girls, which requires good defense.
On Saturday, the Trojans went 0-2 after playing two very competitive games. The Trojans fought hard against Hurricane with many great at bats in the last inning, as well as great defense in the second inning with three up three down.
Having hard competition early on in the season will set the Trojans up for later on in the season. They will use this experience for later on in the season as they continue to work hard.
The Trojans have been working hard each practice to get better as well as to work well together as a team. Even though the games were difficult, the team continued to work hard and support each other throughout the tournament. With the many goals they have this season, each of them strive to achieve them.
Overall, this tournament was a great experience for the JV Trojans Softball team. They went against better competition than they have seen and gave them hard and competitive games. Experiences like these will help the Trojans improve their skills and teamwork as the season continues, and they look forward to using what they learned in future games.
