4th Annual RPG Club Feast

Maddie Dunn, Journalist

RPG Club is one of the school’s largest and oldest clubs. It has been around for 8 years and this year they held their 4th annual Feast.

The Feast is a mixture of good food and entertainment. The fighters, which is another sanction of the club, put on a “Tournament of Kings” style fight but with foam weapons. The food is Medieval and as historically accurate as possible.

It is a fundraiser for the club while also showing the community some of the activities they participate in.

A selected group of “fighters” take turns battling each other while onlookers watch to see who will win. In the kitchen, the cooks that are part of club as well,  prepare the four course meal from start to finish.

The Junior class at the high school also dresses up in medieval type clothing and are the servers during the event and some of the profits will then go towards the Prom fund.

Everyone who attends and participates generally has a really good time. There’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.

There is generally a ceremonial knighting that only select students who have worked hard and shown they’ve earned it receive. Generally it is a high school senior who has upheld a strong moral high ground. Has no fights and follows the Code of Chivalry to the best of their ability.

This year Dalton Craig, high school senior,  was knighted at the Feast and it was a great honor to witness. Mr. Williams, the technology teacher,  gave an emotional speech about how much Dalton had earned it. He was given a special belt and also he won the battle and one a dagger.

The food was given high praise. Spencer Abrams, the sous chef and junior at the high school, made an amazing onion soup that everyone raved about. Maddie Dunn, high school senior and head chef, also made a bacon, egg, and cheese quiche with apples; homemade rye bread to compliment the soup, Medieval chicken with roasted vegetables, and a pear tart for dessert.

Everyone had a lot of fun and overall the turn out was amazing. We are hoping that as the years go by more and more people want to come and enjoy our Feast and spend time learning about the club.
